Graded medium, Cape Hauy is a 4hr return walk starting at Fortescue Bay which itself is a beautiful deep bay with a bright white sandy beach. Cape Hauy is famous among rock climbers for the challenge of scaling The Totem Pole. The walk contains an abundance of wildflowers, seabirds, eagles and even passing whales for the nature and wildlife enthusiasts.
It drops down a steep set of mostly stone steps, before ascending towards the cape. You’ll experience ocean views on both sides as well as of Hyppolyte Rock which will amaze you. Return to Fortescue Bay for a swim in the crystal clear water. A camera and binoculars are recommended!
The Cape Hauy track is just a 34 minute drive from Eaglehawk Pavilions.
